Beauty resolutions

My main beauty resolution for 2012 is to actually use my products and replace them as and when they need to be replaced.

The only thing I have bought (because it was the only thing I was allowing myself) is the Naked 2 Palette. Who can resisit it? And, the only other thing I need to get is a new eyelash curler.

I have what I would say is a medium sized collection of make up. It is in no way as big as some other people I have seen on YouTube and blogs. I have a nice collection and it's time I started using it. I don't want to get in the state where I am buying something only to find that I have something pretty much the same in my collection.

Not only am I using make up products but I also have a nice skincare collection so I am trying to use that up to. I want new products, we all do, but I would like to use some I already own before buying lots more. A sneaky nail polish may peak it's way in from time to time but I also think if I buy a new nail polish I can get rid of one of my old ones. Some brands gloop far too quickly!

I think this is totally do-able and I have been pretty strong so far. I have seen a few things I want, but I'm not letting myself have them. I am planning on updating on my blog and probably YouTube when I have used some products up.

On my list to use up so far I have:

Recipe Corner - Sweet Potato and Butternut Squash soup!

For a few months now I have made various soups for lunch and taken them to work with me. I have made carrot and corriander, brocolli, tomato, carrot and courgette and many more. Today I made one of my favourite soups to date.

Isn't it amazing how this...

can turn into this...

Yummy butternut squash and sweet potato soup. How did I make this? Well, it was pretty easy.

Ingredients

1 large sweet potato

1 medium butternut squash

2 small onions

1 pint of stock

sprinkle of salt and pepper

Method

1. Pre-heat the oven to 180 degrees

2. Cut the butternut squash in half and scoop out the seeds. Peel and dice the sweet potato and peel and slice the onions in half. Put in the oven for about 30-45 minutes

3. Once done add to a pan (or in my case, slow cooker) with the stock (I added 1/2 a pint, whizzed a little and added more water until I had the consistency I wanted) and use a hand mixer/food blender until you get your desired consistency.

4. Add the seasoning and you are done!

It's very simple but VERY tasty! :)

Let's get Naked!

I was SO excited when I received my package from Debenhams containing a product I had been waiting for since it was announced before Christmas.. *drumrolls*

That's right guys, the Naked Palette 2. As I'm sure a lot of you are aware, the first Naked palette is a firm favourite of mine and I acutally use the palette most days. When I heard the new one was coming out and saw the swatches I knew I didn't need it, but I had to have it. Neutral eyeshadows are a must for me.

It retails at £36 (I got mine from Debenhams) and although it may seem a little pricey, you get 12 amazing eyeshadows. (L-R Foxy, Half Baked, Bootycall, Chopper, Tease, Snakebite, Suspect, Pistol, Verve, Yok, Buste, Blackout). In addition, you get a double ended brush and a lip junkie in 'Naked'. I have restrained myself so far and haven't actually used the palette but I will most definitely be using them tomorrow for work so my full view will come soon.

I'm so excited for this release and I believe it will be a lot easier to get hold of than the first one was. If you have the first one, you may not see the need for the second but they are different colours so I'd say why not treat yourself ;).

New Year, New Goals

As 2011 closes and 2012 opens a new chapter, a lot of us will be thinking of our resolutions for the New Year.

I have to say that I managed to fulfill most of the resolutions I made last year, but not all of them and not fully.

I'm not necessarily for making resolutions.. as a lot of the time we forget about them a come the end of January. What I am doing is making goals for myself for 2012, some more personal than others but I will share some with you.

1. I want to lose more weight. I know that for a lot of people, to lose weight is always a resolution but mine is a goal. I don't know *how* much weight I want to lose. The rule 'one size doesn't fit all' applies here. I know what size I want to be (comfortable 12 maybe 10) but I don't know what weight that will have to be. I refer your to my friend Alex's post , as you can see there isn't a direct relationship from weight to size. It depends on height and unfortunately I am only tiny at 5ft 2" so there poses my problem. Anyway...

2. I want to update my blog more. I found myself updating it but only because I thought I had to. I want my readers to have their say as well so if there is anything you want to hear from me, let me know.

3. To sort out and stick to an exercise/workout regime.

4. To bake more and experiment with dishes more.

Anyway, that is just a few goals I have set myself for next year.

Favourite Nail Varnish 2011

Like many beauty/make-up lovers, I have quite a number of nail varnishes. Whilst thinking about my favourite products of 2011, I started to think about nail varnishes. Three specific colours came to mind as the winners for me of this year and the polishes I would turn to if I didn't know what to put on my nails. So here we go...

1. OPI 'The Grape Lakes' - I believe that this was released in 2010 which is probably when I actually bought it but to this date it is still good as new. I absolutely love the colour. It is a red with a slight plum/purple undertone. It's a perfect autumn/winter shade but if I'm honest, I wear it all year round.

2. ORLY 'Rage' - I know that you can still get this colour at Boots stores and I have to say it has been my most worn polish of 2011. It is the perfect rose gold with an almost silver undertone. I also own MAC's soiree (which this was compared to) and I have to say that I don't like as much. I find that with this polish it applies effortlessly and you can get the desired colour in two coats. Highly recommend!

And finally..

3. Essie 'Kisses and Bisses' - I have used this polish on it's own but I primarily use it over the top of another colour. I specifically like to add it over a grey polish. It may sound strange but it gives an amazing pearlescent, beautiful effect and it's also beautiful on it's own. I haven't tried many of Essie varnishes but this is by my favourite.

2012 Wish List - Part One!

I have seen a couple of other beauty bloggers do this so I thought I would take this opportunity to start my 2012 wishlist of beauty products. Obviously I'm not going to get them all at once, but I thought I would share a few products I have been wanting for a while and hope to get in 2012.

Urban Decay Naked Palette 2 - The original Urban Decay palette has been my staple palette since the moment I bought it. I have hit pan on quite a number of the shadows and can't wait for the second edition to come out. I have read numerous reviews that say it is as good, if not better than it's predecessor so I can't wait to own it. I was lucky enough to receive a Debenhams gift card for Christmas and I also have beauty rewards points so I fully intend on putting those into good use here.

Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation - I have heard a lot of good things about this foundation and it has actually been on my list to try for a while. I purchased another of my trusty Clinique Superbalanced Makeup foundation in November which should last me a good couple of months, but I hope this will be my next foundation.

Bobbi Brown Gel Eyeliners - I have heard nothing but good reviews about these products. I don't actually own gel eyeliners anymore as the two I bought from ELF dried up but I have heard that Bobbi Brown's Gel Liners are as good, if not better than MAC's offerings. I hope to get the black and brown one eventually.

Pandora - This is kind of beauty related in the way that I want some more pretty charms. I hope to be able to buy a few more as well as asking for some for presents. There are SO many to choose from. What are your favourites?

Urban Decay Primer Potion - I only have this in the colour 'sin' and I fully intend on owning the clear one. I am going to first of all use my 'painterly' paint pot by MAC (my other skin-toned eye base) and then buy this.

Starting my pandora collection..

For Christmas I got my first pandora bracelet from my parents. I thought I would share the beads with you.

As you can see, I have two separator beads, one hearts murano glass bead, a snowman (because it was a christmas present) and a dog house for my lovely dog.

I absolutely love it and can't wait to add more to the bracelet. Do any of you have a pandora bracelet and if so, what beads do you have?

Smelling sweet..

Every weekend my boyfriend and I go shopping in Asda and every time I am near the shower gel section I will always pick up one of the lovely products by Nspa to smell. If you like smelling of fruit or desert goodness then you will LOVE this range. The best part? It is SO inexpensive for how good it smells. Today I finally picked up the shower gel I have been going to most.. vanilla creme brulee. Mmmm!! I just had to share it with you all...

Nspa is available to buy both on line, and also currently available in Asda but when you are next there you NEED to check it out. This lovely shower gel only cost £2 and their bath syrups (there is hot fudge and angel cake - wow!!) are about £3. For a gorgeous smelling bath and gorgeous smelling products I would highly recommend this brand. I have tried the shower gel this evening and now I smell of creme brulee. SO GOOD! This would be a perfect indulgent treat for yourself or as we are coming up to Christmas, a fantastic stocking filler. I am going to try their bath syrups next.. they are just so delicious that I can't resist ;)

It's all about... feet

Over the past couple of weeks I have bought a couple of pairs of new shoes.

Firstly, black flats.. I have never owned a pair of black flat shoes before but for AGES I have looked what feels like everywhere to find the right pair. I came across these in Primark..

They are a size 5 and were a bargain, £6 (this probably means they won't last too long). I really like them. I love the bow detail and feel I could wear them with jeggings, for work with my work trousers, jeans etc. Very versatile :)

Now, on to something I have being umm'ing and ahh'ing about for a couple of months. I have asked so many people and each and every one of them said buying REAL uggs was worth it, so when I saw this beautiful pair in BANK (with £50 off) I couldn't refuse...

They are the Bailey Button style in Chesnut. I have to say, chesnut is my favourite colour in the ugg range. I thought I would like the black but I don't think they are really me, and for some reason the chesnut colour seems to go with everything. I did own a fake pair from Sainsburys (a cheap £20 deal) and I could tell that the fake and real Uggs are NOT comparable.

Real uggs are SO comfy, it feels like you are walking in slippers - absolutely love! Something I was told at BANK was that Ugg aren't allowing shops (other than the Ugg shop itself) to sell them any more, hence why a lot of retailers are selling their stock in sales. I'm not sure how soon this will happen but if you see some Uggs on sale I would HIGHLY recommend.

I know they are a bit expensive but trust me, they are so worth it!

Losing weight.... the right way

I was browsing through the Yahoo! news page last week and I came across an article about Ruth Jones and her weight loss. In case you don't know who she is.. she played Nessa in Gavin and Stacey!

While I was reading my favourite blogs, I noticed that Alex had to wrote a post on this article. You can read her post here.

Both and Alex and I are firm believers that fad diets do NOT work. If you spoke to us both about them we would probably rant at you for hours!

Knowing my friend, I knew that she would also love the message that Ruth Jones has portrayed.

How did Ruth lose so much weight?

She simply made sure she ate 1500 calories or less and she has lost a whopping 4.5 stone. Amazing results or what? And now.. she looks fabulous!

Counting calories is the key. Portion control is another biggie. Don't mount your plate with food.. eat as much as you can, don't over feed your body! My advice is to look at my favourite website, Myfitnesspal and get counting!

Another point I feel I should talk about is weighing scales.

I have being losing weight this year, I have been keeping a track on the scales. However, as my weight loss has slowed down lately (1lb here, 1lb there) I decided for a couple of weeks I will come off the scales (down to the advice of a few people). It will hopefully allow me to clear my mind and not worry every time I step on the scales. The number is not important, it's how I feel.

Some of you may wonder.. why are you doing that? How will you know if you've lost weight? Well, trust me.. I do. I also believe that it will be healthy for me and my mind. A lot of people get too wrapped up in the number that comes up on the scales. I know in myself I have lost a lot of weight. I was a size 18 at the start of the year and today saw my boyfriend buy me two size 12 tops. That's right. SIZE TWELVE.

I am so unbelievably proud of myself and anyone else that loses weight but I always think that it has to be done the right way. I don't want my weighing scales to be the nightmare of my weight loss. I will update on how I have done over the next few weeks.

2011 has only seen the start of my weight loss. I have so much more energy now than I ever used to and next year will bring so many more goals with it.

Healthy mind, healthy body? I think so :)

I am slowly but surely burning my 'Garden Sweet Pea' Yankee Candle. You would probably think this is more of a spring fragrance, but I love the smell of it in my room, it's really calming. I absolutely love these candles and will be placing an order in January from my favourite Yankee Supplier, Yankee Direct.

And finally.. this song..

Ed Sheeran has became hugely popular. I think his album is so calming and he has a great way with words. This song was my favourite when I first heard the album and ironically it is now his new single. Plus, the video is really funny.

Like a lot of beauty obsessed girls, I absolutely love nail varnishes. I pick up a couple every so often to add to my collection.

A few weeks ago I found myself running out of my beloved BarryM base and top coat and decided it was time for a change. Research commenced..

As I tend to do my own at home manicure (nothing very fancy but good enough for me), I know that a good top coat is essential to the finish of the manicure. Whilst reading some reviews, I came across this product. Now, I was slightly dubious at first given my disaster with Megashine (the product that everyone apart from me apparently loves), but I thought I would give it a go.

I found it at Boots for just under £6 and I am SO pleased I chose to buy this. You apply your nail varnish, leave it for about a minute or maybe two and apply the top coat. Literally within 30 seconds it is completely dry.

This is fabulous for when you want to do a quick job before you leave the house, but in general this product is genius. There have been many a time when I have finished my nails and thought (quite stupidly) that they were dry - cue smudgy nails and an unhappy face.

I would give this product 10/10 and I will definitely be re-purchasing.

Weight Loss Tips - Eating like a Rabbit!

Have you ever heard the expression 'eating like a rabbit'?

Well if you have..here is my advice.. don't do it!

When it comes to weight loss, people I know tend to think it's a great idea to just cut whole groups of food out. This idea may work in the short-term, but it will not work in the long run. Sorry friends, this is the truth (the rabbit even says so).

I'm not a weight loss expert by any means but I have seen the same mistake made so many times. A lot of people believe that carbohydrates are bad for you, fat is bad for you etc etc. If that was in fact right, you would have to ask yourself how we have survived for so many years.

Now time for some examples..

Carbohydrates can ultimately be divided into two groups. Firstly, simple carbohydrates (refined sugars) - pastry, cakes, sugar etc. This alone should be limited.. hence (and I quote from my lovely friend Alex) "a balanced diet isn't a cake in each hand, apparently". So stuffing your face with cakes every day is never a good idea. A treat every now and again is never going to do you any harm.

Then we have complex carbohydrates - wholemeal pasta and bread, potatoes, some fruit and veg. Now complex carbohydrates are known for being slow releasing which means you are kept full for longer and then limit your cravings for the simple carbohydrates. They are also there to give you energy.

Fats are good for you if you provide your body the right fat. Saturated fat is a bad fat which can lead to increased cholesterol levels and the increase of heart disease (higher levels of saturated fat are normally found in processed food) . You can get good fat in foods such as nuts, fish etc. Our body does need a percentage of good fat to keep it going.

However, if you over indulge in the bad fat, you will put weight on. This is the same in any diet.

If you completely cut out carbohydrates you will lose weight but eventually your body will go into starvation mode which will lead to it basically clinging on to fat.
The key is to have a balanced diet. Eat a breakfast such as porridge that is slow releasing on energy, keeps you full and is low in fat. Have a nice lunch for example soup which again will keep you full for long and supply you with required nutrients. You can also have a balanced evening meal really easily - one of my favourites (and my boyfriend) lately has been fish pie. You have some really nice fish, vegetables and potatoes. Not too much fat, too many calories etc. No body is saying you can't go out and eat or have treats, we all can.. just not on a daily basis.

Eating healthy should never be a case of banishing what you consider bad foods. Have a treat now and again (we are all allowed those), but don't eat bad things all the time. Everyone knows a take-away isn't a good thing, but one every so often won't touch you.

So here is my message..

Don't simply cut out food (carbs etc)
Don't eat like a rabbit (salad all the time isn't going to provide you enough nutrients)
Do eat a balanced, healthy, diet

Also.. if you join MyFitnessPal and enter what you are eating each day it will draw you a nice little pie chart showing you what you are eating too much of and in some cases too little of. It will tell you (to the gram) how much fat, protein etc you should be eating a day. This tool alone is a massive help to weight loss. It has helped me and so many of my friends and if you stick to it, you can lose weight and maintain that weight loss.

Weight Loss Tips - A big no no.. skipping meals!

One thing I have learned about dieting is that you must not skip meals. I don't often feel that hungry around breakfast time but man alive, if I don't eat in the morning I am starving by 10am. A myth that a lot of people live by is to skip meals.. do NOT skip meals, it is SO counter-productive. Your body essentially thinks 'oh my god I'm starving' and clings on to fat.

Breakfast is a great start to the day and for me it is an essential or I will start to look like a zombie while I am at work.

I read an article a few days ago which I found very interesting so I thought I would share it with you. You wouldn't think that baked beans on toast is a good breakfast, would you? Well, you would be wrong.. read about it all here.

During the week for breakfast I tend to eat porridge (more of a winter food for me), cereal (bran flakes are my favourite), yogurt and fruit or toast. I sometimes have crumpets but not all the time. I always try to have something as it is always better than nothing.

At the weekends I started making some amazing pancakes on a Sunday. I got the recipe from my wonderful friend Alex who has an amazing blog.. if you haven't read her blog, what have you been doing? Go and read it.. NOW.

The pancakes are really healthy and can be used with a variety of fruit or jams. My boyfriend approves and I not so long ago tried them on my parents who also approved (they are a fluffy delight). To view the pancake recipe I use click here.

So a tip, and if you like, a lesson, is don't skip meals.

It's not good for you and in the end you will end up craving foods that are bad for you and eating them as well.

I love this app for creating different effects on photo's.

You can download packages and use different lenses and different films.

Snapseed ♥

Again, this is a cool photo editing app.

You can adjust the lighting, colour etc and also to add frames to the picture.

MyFitnessPal ♥

I find this app is essential to my diet. I mainly use this for counting calories. You can complete a profile that tells you how many calories you can eat on a daily basis. You then complete a daily diary including any exercise and it will produce a report at the end of the week to show you how you've been doing that week. Since losing weight I find that a lot of people will ask me for some tips on how to lose weight. I'm in no way a nutritionist and I'm not going to pretend to be. Consider this a new segment on my blog. I am learning as I go along and so far have come across some simple (and sometimes, rather obvious) tips on how to lose weight so why not share them with you all? Here goes...

Tip 1 - Plan What You Eat!

I chose this as my first tip as a Sunday is the day my boyfriend and I sit down to plan the meals we are going to cook together during the week (or I am going to eat when I am on my own). It sounds simple, and it really is. I stopped doing it for a while and I ended up not eating properly which is never good in any one's books.

So firstly, I will sit down and plan my meals.

My breakfast will normally be cereals or toast, depending on what I fancy on the day. I make my lunch every morning which is usually a sandwich (can't wait to make soup in the winter). Then I have my food in the evening to think about.

This week's evening plan looks like this:

Monday: Venison and Pork meatballs

Tuesday: Low-fat Macaroni Cheese (a quick favourite as Tuesday is Zumba day)

Wednesday: Jacket Potato, tuna and some salad

Thursday: Spaghetti Bolognese

Friday: Fish Pie

Then, I write down any ingredients I need (along with any toiletries needed), and that's my shopping list done.

It's not only cost effective as you are buying only the food you need.. it's also great for your diet as you aren't buying in anything for the sake of it. The way I see it is.. if you don't have junk food in, you aren't likely to have it.

This works for me anyway and I think it really does help when you are trying to lose weight!

The 21lb Challenge..

Christmas is closely creeping up on us and although I am a fan of Christmas (I absolutely love spending time with my family and friends), I realise that this means that this year is not that far off ending. Scary thought or what?

When 2011 began I set myself a number of goals.

To lose weight
To get fitter/healthier
To eat in a more balanced, healthy way

I have so far lost weight and am definitely getting fitter and eating a lot better than I have in previous years. I have also dropped two dress sizes.

Although this seems great, I'm still not completely satisfied with the way I look and I still feel I would like to drop another two dress sizes. I know this is all in an ideal world, but I feel I can do it.

With this in mind I thought I would set myself a goal for the next two and a bit months. To lose another one and a half stone (21lbs). I am also aiming to get rid of a lot of the fat from my stomach (that is however for another post).

I am hoping that with this I will be able to get even more fitter and by the end of 2011 and be another stone and a half lighter.

Achievable? I hope so!

Haul: Burn Baby, Burn!

It's not a secret that I have been trying to loose a LOT of weight this year. I have been trying out different exercise from doing extra walking, Zumba and then my newest addition is swimming.

I have decided that I really would like to also give a go to running. When I was younger I would rather do anything other than running but I feel I should give it a go.

My friend Alex mentioned a good plan that would build me up to running slowly but surely. The Couch-2-5k is based around the idea that you will gradually build up running and not just go straight into it full force.

I figured it would do me no harm to do it. Each week when I have been losing weight I have been exercising within that week and have no idea which form of exercise is burning off more calories.

My guess is that Zumba is up there at the top, but I wanted a way to find out. Enter my new toy:

This is my new baby. It's the SportLine 555 and allows me to track calories, my heart rate etc. It's also water resistant and has a stop watch and countdown timer on it. Multi-functional I have to say :).
I am looking forward to figuring out how many calories each of my exercise will be burning and I think it would be a really good way of me tracking how much I'm burning per week.

I know how many calories I am taking in, just not how many I'm burning off. Now I will which is fabulous. At least I think so ;)

FOTD: The Start Of a New Week

So here we have another Face Of The Day. Today I went with a more pink toned eye make-up look. The shadow I used was primarily 'paradisco' by MAC.

I love this colour as it looks really bright but it's a really nice coral/peach with gold undertones. Absolutely LOVE it! Now, onto some posey pictures ;)

Lets make another change..

Here I am again.. making a slight change to the schedule I have here and YouTube.

The reasons? Being so damn busy, staring a new job and wanting to incorporate more exercise into my week (without overloading) are the main ones, really.

I will say that I love my blog and my YouTube channel and I won't be stopping either of them!

So, here is my new schedule...

Monday: FOTD/OOTD/NOTD (no change here really)

Thursday: Miscellaneous Beauty Post (review, haul, ramble, loves, hates etc)

Any other posts I want to make in between, I will :)

I am also going to bring some fitness/food/diet related posts into my blog too.

I've not quite figured out how yet but I do enjoy talking and writing about my weight loss and give my opinion and advice to others that are trying to lose weight.

I have to say that I am lucky enough to have some amazing people in my life supporting me along my journey so I am really lucky.

And more importantly, I am extremely proud of how far I've come so far and I will be continuing on until I reach my goal! :)

A little OPI Haul!

When I was visiting my friend Cazz she took me to Sally's Beauty so I could have a look at the different nail polishes you can get.

If you have a make-up qualification you can get a Trade card which will give you a discount on the products within the store. I was pleased to find that there was actually a store in Coventry so I will be going to look in there soon.

I was really pleased to see the selection in the Sally's that we went to. There was a mixture of different nail polish companies. China Glaze and O.P.I were the only two I was really interested in. The particular store didn't have an amazing range of China Glaze polish but did have a really good selection from O.P.I. As most people know in the UK, they are normally £10.99 per nail polish (sometimes cheaper if you buy them online or eBay).

I personally think this price is ridiculous so when I managed to get three polishes for £15 I was delighted! Here are the colours I picked up :)

Product(s) of The Week and See You In a Week ;)

I have narrowed it down to two products I have absolutely LOVED this week. I'm not doing very well just keeping it to one, but I do try ;)

First we have NARS Orgasm Illuminator.

I got this product in my May Glossybox and I have used it more or less every day this week. I was inspired by Kelly who used this product under her foundation.

I thought this was a perfect idea and it is. I stipple a little of the product onto my cheeks, forehead, down the nose and a little onto the chin.

After that I let it set for a minute before applying my foundation. The result is an amazing glowy finish to the skin - perfect for Summer I feel.

The second product I want to talk about it something I have actually had in my collection for about a year now and have re-discovered it again this week.

This is the Sleek Face Contour Kit in 'Light'. Specifically, I have been loving the Contour powder this week. Contouring is essentially where you 'shape' your face.

I use the contour powder (on the left of the palette) to create a more defined cheek bone. I also use it round my chin and down my nose. This just allows your face to have shape.

A bronzer can also be used for contouring but this product has no shimmer which allows you to create a more defined shape. I use it with my Sigma F25 and think it's an amazing product.

You can buy this product in Superdrug or you can go directly to the Sleek website.

It retails at £6.99 which I think is a bargain and is definitely something I will be using all Summer.

On a side line I feel I should mention that I won't be blogging in the next week.

This weekend I am going to visit my friend Cazz (aka MissPrincessPancake on YouTube).

Then, I won't be around much next week as I have a really busy week with work commitments.

Review: Liz Earle - Cleanse & Polish

Today I have decided to do a review on my favourite cleanser of all time. I am so impressed by this product that I feel I owe it to myself to write this review!

With being part of the beauty community, I know that everyone always will over-hype a product. You buy it, and you think it was a waste of money. However this, to me, is the exception!

When I ran out of my lovely Clinique cleanser I decided I would try something different. Having heard SO many good things about Liz Earle's Cleanse & Polish, I thought I would give it a go.

What do Liz Earle say? "We only make one cleanser because this formulation is the ultimate in concentrated yet gentle cleansing power and works on every age and skin type.

Our plant-based cleanser has a 2-phase action, phase 1 is the cleansing. Free from mineral oil, it has a rich and creamy texture and swiftly removes all traces of face and eye make-up, even stubborn mascara.

Phase 2 is the polishing. Polish off the cream using the pure muslin cloth to help gently dislodge dead skin cells and help reveal clean, soft and radiant skin.

Naturally active ingredients include eucalyptus and cocoa butter for smoother, clearer skin."

What do I say? This product gets a HUGE thumbs up from me. I only tend to use this in the evening as that is when I really want to remove make-up and cleanse my skin. So, every evening I apply one pump of the cleanse and polish to my hand and massage it onto my skin. I then soak a muslin cloth in warm water (not too hot, I wouldn't recommend burning your face). After this I start to 'polish' away at my skin (use circular motion) and then I watch all my make-up come off. It even removes mascara which for me is amazing. I then repeat this step on my clean skin to make sure everything is off and to ensure my skin is completely cleansed.

Cleanse and Polish has firmly replaced my face wipes and for those of you who are thinking it is a lot more effort, it isn't, trust me! It smells amazing, the packaging is fantastic and it's not too over priced either. It comes with two muslin cloths and you can wash them after every two to three uses - extremely simple! I ordered mine from John Lewis a little over a month ago and have used it every day since. It comes in a lovely pale green bag with two muslin cloths and a 100ml bottle of Cleanse & Polish and it is priced at £13.25 - not too high a price tag! Liz Earle also says that this is suitable for all skin types and as a warning I will say that I broke out in a couple of spots in the first two weeks but since then I had none and my skin looks and feels smooth.

This product will be a part of my skin care for a long time to come, it's just amazing!

MOTD: Brown for Blue

Recently I have been loving using brown eyeshadow. I find that it really makes the blue in my eyes stand out.

Today my make-up of the day is once again, neutral and extremely easy to do! Time for some posey pictures...

Although a lot of the make-up I used is higher end, you can easily dupe them for any brown eyeshadows.

As I graciously slide through my early 30’s I constantly feel the need to impart my skincare wisdom on the youth; drink lots of water, moisturise every day, wear SPF (preferably in your moisturiser), endeavour to get some beauty sleep between that hectic 20-something social life of yours and for heaven’s sake DON’T sleep in your make up!

Given my age (a very youthful looking 32, if you must know) I’m forever on the lookout for good skincare products. I’m not anti-aging, but I’m all for growing older in a gracious way. To me this means attempting to keep hold of my skin tone and condition. I have a good skin care routine but even the best ones need a little boost every now and then.

Let it be said that I am not the kind of girl that is easily swayed by hype. However Nip + Fab Frown Fix got my attention, not just by this incredible (and yet bonkers) article from early May that was published in the Daily Mail:

Yes, it sounds amazing. Yes, Jennifer Aniston uses it. Yes, it’s £10.25 … hang on, £10.25? Even I’m having a go at it for that price!
It’s a nice little product; a little clicky-brush design like your YSL Touche Eclat but apparently full of magical things which are advertised as the non-surgical version of botox. Yes, I was sure that was a blatant over-exaggeration too, but these things have to be tested.

I put some on in the afternoon on the day I bought it and saw no visible immediate effects. I persevered and put some on at bedtime and the following morning I could actually see a difference! My skin around my eyes definitely looked smoother and felt a lot smoother the next day, I’m a little bit impressed. I only say a little bit because smothering my face in Benefit’s Dr. Feelgood (link) has the same effect (and is brilliant for hiding fine lines before you put your make up on) but I’m told that the Frown Fix not only has the desired effect when used but can actually reduce the appearance of lines in the long-run – if this is true then this has to be the main selling point.

Am I converted? Not as of yet, I’ll let you know when I get to the end of the tube as I intend to use the product every day until it runs out, then I’ll be able to pass real judgement. But from what I’ve seen so far it looks like it might be a relatively low-priced answer to some non-surgical prayers.

I bought my Frown Fix from Boots for £10.25 . It’s the first stock I’ve seen in there since launch, so if you’re planning on buying some I’d suggest you hop to it pronto, Tonto.

Product of The Week!

I have really been enjoying 'shopping my stash' recently. If you don't know what I mean by that, I mean that I have been enjoying using my own make-up rather than buying new products.

I often forget how many different products I own. I cringe when I think of how many blushes, eyeshadows etc I have. I have been reaching for several products recently that I haven't looked at in a long time.

This brings me to my Product of The Week - a MAC blusher in Gingerly.

This is a beautiful blush that has been in my collection and sadly has been neglected and sat at the back of my storage for a long time now.

It's a beautiful bronzey peach colour and as it is a sheertone formulation it is extremely buildable. I apply it with my Sigma f25 directly onto the apple of my cheek and I absolutely love the colour pay off.

How to fake it for Summer!

Most people that know me would vouch for me when I say that I don't tan. In fact, I have never been able to tan. I always burn and look like a lobster which isn't very attractive.

I have tried some self-tanners over the years and I actually remember the first one I tried was from the Body Shop. Somehow I managed to fake tan the top, but not the bottom of my arm - huge error!

As a massive lover of everything beauty related I have heard and read a lot of people talking about different fake tan's for this Summer.

I figured it would be the time for me to jump on the band wagon and give some a go myself.

I decided to start with something I have heard rave reviews about - St Moriz! I have heard so many good things about thie product to the extend that it has been compared on numerous occasions to St Tropez. It is described as:

"An instant, self tanning mousse suitable for all skin types. St Moriz Instant Self Tanning Mousse gives you a professional, flawless tan.

It has been specially developed with ingredients which help to create an instant bronzing effect, providing you with a perfect, all over, professional self tan.

Applies as a tinted mousse, which means you can see where you are applying it, and avoid streaking."

The packaging is pretty simple and nice. You can instantly see that is a pump which is also really easy to work with and really easy to store.

When I received this product I pretty much had to give it a go straight away. So, on Friday afternoon I set out trying it for the first time. The first step in any good fake tanning routine is to exfoliate. Enter, my Soap and Glory 'Flake Away'...

Then it was time to moisturise on the hard part of my skin. So, let's say the knee's and the elbows. I however more or less moisturised all over. Then the next part is to apply the tan.

This is a part I find particualrly hard normally but with this product I found it to be so easy. I used a tanning mitt which I bought from Superdrug for around £1, you can find them anywhere really cheaply.

The tanning mitt is a great tool as it means your hands won't get incredibly dirty in the process of tanning. I would highly recommend you buy one before applying fake tan for the first time. It won't be so daunting then.

One of the great things about this tan is that it comes out in a tinted mousse form. This means during application you can see where you are putting it on at the time. Don't be alarmed at first though, it does go on quite dark but it is just a guideline so that you can see what you are doing properly! I had some advice from one of my lovely friends and after it had dried (it took about a minute), I then left it on for three hours.

The bottle does say 4-6 hours for a good result, but 3 was enough for me. I was also pretty scared if I'm honest. After the 3 hours were up, I had a shower.

You will be amazed at how much comes off. When I got out the shower I felt as if I didn't have much fake tan on at all. I was told that it would build up over night and that is so true! Over night it developed into a gorgeous

brown colour. It looks so natural and the best part? It is STREAK FREE! I was amazed as I have never had such a natural looking tan before. Nothing about it was orange, it was just a really nice Summery glow. I LOVE IT! The bottle advises that for a medium tan to reapply after 5-7 days which I am going to do tomorrow as I am enjoying looking a bit more brown :)

If you are a fan of St Tropez but think that spending £25 a time is expensive, definitely try this tan!

St Moriz is so inexpensive and it retails at approximately £3.50 and you buy it easily from places like Amazon. I would highly recommend this product and it gets a full 10/10 from me!

Guest Post: Skin Care

I asked on Twitter if any one would like to come on my blog and do a guest post. I was delighted when a lovely Blogger friend of mine asked if she could do it. So here is the post..

Hi ladies,

So today we're talking skincare. Because let's face it, I can apply all the make-up in the world, if the canvas isn't good, then I end up feeling/ looking miserable. I did have acne as a teenager although nothing severe. And I do still get the occasional spot, mostly on my chin or jawline, which being 29 is pretty irritating. I have combination skin, my T-zone gets quite oily in the summer. However in the winter, my skin gets really dry and I have dry patches on my cheeks where my skin is quite sensitive.

About three years ago, I discovered Dermalogica products and I was hooked ! The beautician I saw at the salon explained a lot to me about ingredients and the pointlessness of some products such as L'Oreal and Olay. I'm not saying they're pointless for everyone, but for me she explained that these were not going to help my skin at all because of the mineral oils in there. Over the years I have tried LOADS of different brands and products. You name them, I've tried them: from the cheap and cheerful Simple and Nivea to middle range L'Oreal to high-end brands like Clinique, Chanel and Clarins. The worst one I've ever tried is Neutrogena. There is something in their products that really doesn't agree with my skin and gives me a rash like an allergic reaction. Actually, Clinique is my second worst. I know their 3 step programme to great skin is really popular but I found it awful. The toner just stripped my skin and I found the Dramatically Different Lotion to do nothing at all :( Quite a waste of money! Chanel was a good one but until Dermalogica nothing ever felt great. The beautician also recommended LaRoche Posay products to me , even though she wasn't supposed to suggest anything apart from Dermalogica!

So this is what I use:

-Morning: shower; La Roche -Posay Effaclar, Purifying Foaming Gel for oily sensitive skin.
- Dermalogica: Daily microfoliant (it is a brightening gentle exfoliant)

- Moisturiser: Rosaliac UV SPF 15 : Fortifying Anti-redness moisturiser
-Eye Cream: Number 7, Protect and Perfect Intense Eye Cream (my friend gave that one to me)

Evening: - Dermalogica: Pre Cleanse, cleansing oil
- Dermalogica Smoothing Cream moisturiser (I'm not at home and forgot it, grrr)

So yes, they're not cheap products, but they do last forever as a little goes a long way and I've never had to repurchase all of them at the same time. This is the routine that works for me and I think my skin has really improved since using it. It is a lot more even, in winter, I have fewer or no dry patches and I have no break outs. I am aware that I probably will need to alter it slightly as I'm no spring chicken and will need some sort of anti-ageing stuff but I'm delaying it for now :)

As much as I tried, for this week I couldn't just choose product for this week. So, I have narrowed it down to my absolute three favourite products this week.

Origins; VitaZing

This is the staple to my foundation routine right now. A few times all I have needed is this and some concealer and I have been good to go.

Whilst It is essentially a moisturiser with SPF 15, there is a difference. When you rub it into your skin, it blends in with the natural colour of your skin and then adds a slight tint to it.

For me this is the best thing since sliced bread. It also gives you an amazing glow so I think it would be perfect to use in conjunction with your foundation! I have used it almost every day this week. I simply love it! :)

Liz Earle; Cleanse and Polish

I have heard so many rave reviews about this and I am going to be one of those people (a review will be coming soon). I absolutely love this cleanser and to me, it has just erased the need for make-up wipes.

I think I was most amazed when I realised it had took my whole face of make-up off so easily. It's so smooth and has a lovely fragrane and I simply love it.

It comes with two muslin cloth's which are used in warm water to polish your make-up off. I could rave about this all day, but for now I will say that this is a firm product favourite of mine this week!

MAC Nail Varnish; Soiree

I have been using this polish virutally all this week. I absolutely love it and I think it will be on my nails a lot this Summer. It is a rose gold with an extra beautiful shimmer to it. Very Summery I feel.

It was limited edition unfortunately but I believe that Orly's polish in 'Rage' is a very good dupe, so if you can pick that up then I would definitely go for it! :)

Perfume Rave: Paul Smith, Optimistic

After I was given the opportunity to collaborate with Paul Smith in the launch of his new fragrance 'Optimistic' I was sent the fragrance for her to try out for my own personal use.
As a disclaimer I would like to say that no one has asked me to do a review, I just want to write this post as I have worn the perfume every day since receiving it and I love it! Here is what my little bottle looks like!

When I saw the press images for the release of the fragrance my first impression was that I really liked the packaging. Simple and very clean to look at. I have to admit that I didn't know what to expect when I first smelt the perfume and I was very pleasantly surprised. The perfume instantly reminded me of something else, Gucci II - another of my perfume loves. I am so impressed by this perfume. To me it's a very summery, clean fragrance that settles so nicely on the skin. There are some subtle sweet hints in the perfume but nothing over powering so it is one I would strongly recommend. It's going to be in my handbag all summer :)

Optimistic is the new fragrance for men and women from Paul Smith. The name for the fragrance comes from Paul’s personal spirit which is very much about individuality and being optimistic.

The Fragrances have fruity/woody and floral notes and are completely different to the other fragrances in the portfolio.

NOTD: Gorgeous in Grey

Since I bought Essie's 'Kisses and Bisses' it has pretty much been on my nails at all time!

I love it on top of other nail varnish colours, it always looks so pretty!

I would highly recommend it if you can find it. It was part of the Spring Collecton from Essie this year.

Recipe Corner: Pastryless Quiche

Firstly, welcome to my 'recipe corner'. If I come across recipe's that I really love and think you should know about.. I will write about them.

Within my 'diet' I always like to try different things. I love Quiche but obviously the pastry is always going to be really fattening so here comes my pastryless Quiche. It is SO simple to make and tastes delicious!
This idea was put to me by one of my work colleagues so I thought I would give it a go. Turns out, it's fantastic! And the plus side? It's healthy! :)

You can have it with homemade potato wedges, salad.. whatever you like really! Here is how to make it :)

Ingredients

Wafer-thin ham

3 medium eggs

1 tub of cottage cheese

Herbs

You can easily vary this and add mushrooms, peppers etc. Whatever you like really! All you need to do is as follows;

1. Preheat your oven to approx 160 degrees

2. Layer your oven proof dish with some ham

3. In a separate bowl, whisk your eggs and cottage cheese together and pour over the ham

4. Place the dish in the oven. It really is that simple and also really healthy

I bake for approximately 30 minutes watching it as it cooks. You can tell when it's done as it has a brownish coat!

This dish is absolutely delicious and good for something quick and easy to make on the nights you don't want to cook a lot! :)

Introducting: GlossyBox

When I first heard about BirchBox in the US, I was dying for them to have something similar here in the UK. Then came GlossyBox.. a few weeks ago I heard about this company and literally jumped at the chance to subscribe! It is a subscription service whereby you pay £10 and you get a box each month and inside there are five luxury beauty samples. This basically allows you to try out different high-end brands before you buy anything. Amazing idea, don't you think?

After a lot of messing around I finally got my GlossyBox. I had already seen some reviews and was so excited to get my box.

My lovely nails of the day :) (you will have to excuse my hand pictures - I haven't got the art of good looking hands mastered, yet).

I change my nail varnish every couple of days. For some reason it always makes me feel good about myself. Today I have on:

Models Own - Lilac Dream (the first nail varnish I ever bought from them)

Essie - Kisses and Bisses (from the Spring Collection 2011)

The Essie polish in particular has been a firm favourite of mine for a while now. I tend to put it over a lot of colours just to give them some extra shine. I love it!

If I have been doing my own make-up or someone else's, I will always use this as a setting spray. Everyone always says how nice and refreshing it is and how well it sets their make-up. Over the past two weeks I have been reaching for it every day and just using it on bare skin before I go to bed and when I first wake up in the morning. It makes my skin feel toned, awake and it has the most amazing smell to it. For a bottle I have had for well over a year, this product lasts a really long time! If you are after an awake feeling to your skin I strongly urge you to try this out.

Fix+ can be used in a number of different ways; to set make-up, to tone skin, to give skin radiance etc! I know that it always makes my skin feel really good.

It is a vitamin and mineral infused product, and for me, it has definitely been my product of the week! :)

Meow! I have Katy Perry's Purrfume

I have been in search for a new fragrance after a lot of mine have run out. Ideally I wanted something light and summery.

I like perfumes that are relatively sweet and Katy Perry's 'Purr' did just the job for me. Although the packaging may not be to everyone's cup of tea, I actually quite like it.

Now, onto the fragrance itself. It is a light fragrance, which at first smell I thought wasn't all that great. Instantly the first smell I came across was quite a sweet apple/peach smell. After it settled a slightly vanilla/sandalwood smell came across. I would say that the packaging is marketed towards a younger audience. However, I absolutely love this and would compare it to the likes of Marc Jacobs; Daisy. It is definitely a new summer fragrance for me. In fact, I would say it was purrfect ;)

If you have tried it out I would love to hear what you think about it! Or, if you haven't then I suggest you go and smell it as you will be pleasantly surprised!

When I was asked to collaborate with Paul smith and the release of his new fragrance 'Optimistic', I jumped at the chance!

All I had to do was write a post about what makes me optimistic so here we go..

Mine normally is (especially when it comes to wine ;))

I would have to say that I have been somewhat negative in the past but I have learnt that you are better off expecting the best than the worst.

What am I optimistic about right now? Reaching my goal weight and having a good summer!

Without some optimism in our lives, it would be a very negative place! We only have one life and we should make the most of it.

One of my favourite sayings is

My favourite bloggers update really regulary and I on the other hand have not. I feel that my YouTube channel and my blog need a make-over. I figured the best way to organise my blog in particular is to have a schedule of posts so that I can keep my posting regularly.

Things I'm loving right now...

MAC Lipstick in Hue - I've never stopped loving this product really but lately I have worn it a LOT! I love it and it's wearable every single day. Definitely my favourite lipstick of all time!

Leggings - I have been almost living in leggings recently, especially since I have lost weight as I feel that they are really flattering on me now!

Body Shop Body Butter in Wild Cherry - I am in LOVE with the Body Butters' they are scrummy! At the moment they are half price on the Body Shop website and there is a deal in store right now where you can get 3 and get a 4th free. This is an amazing deal as I picked up four for £18 as opposed to £50 which four of them would cost! For those wondering I got the Wild Cherry, Blueberry, Almond and Brazil Nut.

TRESemme's dry shampoo - I can't get enough of this. It is brilliant in so many ways and is great for the days' in between washing my hair! :)

Urban Decay Naked Palette - This is a complete love of mine. I use it most days and I would be lost without it. As soon as I see it again I will be re-purchasing it for a back-up. Can't get enough ;)

Spring Cleaning!

Hey everyone!

Sorry for not doing posts in a little while. I have just been so busy through one thing or another. However, I am back now and ready to start posting again.

The weather was gorgeous today so I decided to open my windows, blast out some music and I had a little clean out in my room. Okay, I say little... it look me four hours! I managed to bin a lot of junk that was cluttering up my room, get some more space and tidy out my wardrobe.

As a lot of you will know I have lost quite a lot of weight and am continuing to do so each week which is really great. With this in mind I decided that I would get rid of some old clothes and tidy out my wardrobe. Inspired by Sara Walker aka swalkermakeup and her new video on how she cleaned her wardrobe out.. here is my clean and organised wardrobe!

Yankee Direct!

Every one loves candles, right? I always like to have a candle lit when I'm in the bath or when I'm in my bedroom at night, it makes the room smell lovely.

My Mum owns a couple of Yankee Candles and I have always looked at them in awe. When I heard Fleur talk about this website where you could by my favourite brand of candles cheaper - I jumped on the chance. Yankee Direct is an amazing website where you can buy genuine Yankee Candles at a fraction of their normal cost. I opted for two of the small jars because I decided that it would be the best option for me - the medium sized jars are really quite big so I felt two smaller would be better.

I got two scents; 'Midnight Jasmine' and 'Sweetpea' and my order came to just over £10. What a bargain! If you are all a lover of Yankee Candles you NEED to check out this website - it's amazing.

My weight loss journey..

This year I have begun what I like to call, a 'weight loss mission'. I have two large goals. One to meet by April and one to meet by the end of the year. I'm not going to go into them just yet as I want to set my more achievable goals first. As we all know, I am a make-up fiend. It's one of my many passions in life. Therefore, I have stopped buying it.. only until I reach half a stone goals in my weight loss. I have a list of products I want to buy once I lost half a stone, then another and the list goes on. Great incentive, right? Well, I thought so.

NOTD: Elf - Metal Madness

This is a product rave/NOTD.
Before Christmas I bought a couple of cream liners from ELF or eyeslipsface as they are better known. Elf are always doing promotional offers and this particular one was to spend £10 and you would get free delivery and a free Christmas nail polish. They sent me one called 'Metal Madness' and I have tried it out over the past few days.

I have to say that I am so impressed by it. Not only goes it glide on, the colour is lovely.. it's a gun metal grey with different colour sparkles. Additionally it stays on like a dream. I have had it on for 3 days and there is no sign of chips! I am so pleased with it. The pictures don't do it enough jusitce but it is beautiful and I will be trying out more of their polishes in the future! 10/10 from me! :D

Share the L♥ve week six...

There are a few girls on YouTube that I have been following for well over a year. I watch all their videos and feel like I know them. This week I am going to do a Share the L♥ve with one of those girls!

A lot of you will know her on YouTube as Michele1218. She has been on YouTube for a couple of years and although she has had a recent break, she is now back and making new videos. Michele is beautiful and you can tell she has a heart of gold. She is so kind and lovely to talk to. Her channel features some amazing tutorials, her opinions on her favourite products and much more. She also has two gorgeous dogs called Jake and Lucy.. they are both adorable and are sometimes in her videos.

While we were chatting about a swap we arranged I was honoured because she answered a couple of questions for me so I could feature her on here. 1. What is your favourite all time beauty/makeup item that you can't not have? MASCARA!! I have no problem leaving the house completely bare skinned, but without mascara, I feel completley naked!!

2. What new product(s) would you recommend for anyone to try? Hmm....that is a tough one....For high end-The Clarisonic...I know it is a bit pricey, but its definitely an investment that you will have forever and it does WONDERS for your skin. I seriously don't know how I ever managed to live without it. For Drugstore-Wet & Wild products. They have stepped up their game so much, before I would pass their display and not even give it a second look. Now, I am always so excited to see what they will come out with next. Its completley affordable and the quality is amazing!!

3. What do you enjoy most about making YouTube videos? Interacting with my subscribers and viewers. I have "met" people from all over the world from age 9 to 48. Its amazing how a blush or lipstick can bring everyone together. The interaction with everyone is seriously the thing that I most look forward to. If it weren't for that, I probably wouldn't be here! And honestly, that is what brought me back. I missed the interaction so much-especially because we all feel like friends. Now that I decided to come back, the support and welcome back -without any questions asked has made the entire experience -good and bad SO incredibly worth it!

I think it has to be mascara as it makes such a difference to your whole look. If I could only use one product for the rest of my life it would be mascara! My current favourite is the MaxFactor False Lash Effect- leaves lashes so big and glossy!

What new product(s) would you recommend for anyone to try?

I've just bought the L'Oreal True Match Foundation and I'm absolutely loving it. Will be posting about it soon! It gives such flawless coverage and is perfect for a winter foundation. It's not too heavy either.

What do you enjoy most about blogging?

I've always enjoyed writing and being creative and I just love having my place on the web where I can ramble about whatever I want, and know that people are reading! I love the whole beauty community and have met so many great people through.

Favourite Perfumes

I have quite a few perfumes in my collection and am always wanting to try new ones. However, as most girls, I have a few favourites that I will always re-purchase as I just love their fragrance! I have a few perfumes I want to try out including Viktor & Rolf - Flowerbomb.

So here we have my absolute favourites. First we have two perfumes by Marc Jacobs - Daisy and Lola. Both of these fragrances are really 'fresh', especially Daisy which just reminds me of clean sheets with a hind of flowers. I absolutely adore the bottles and have kept my first bottle of Daisy as I just think the packaging is adorable. Plus, my Dog is called Daisy.. even more incentive!

Then we have Insolence by Guerlain and Calvin Klein - Euphoria. Insolence has always been a stand out fragrance to me and it has a really sweet smelling scent. The main thing this perfume reminds me of is Parma Violets which I really remember from my childhood. Lovely fragrance but if you don't like a sweet perfume, I don't think you will like it! Finally, Euphoria.. this is again quite a clean scent with a hint of fruit. I love the packaging to all my favourite perfumes and I have to say that a good packaging is always a winner for me.

I'm sure a lot of you know about the company ModelsOwn they are a great beauty company. I really love their nail varnishes and have a few in my collection. As winter is really coming in full-force I have decided to brighten up my nails and recently I have been wearing their Nail Varnish in 'Lilac Dream'. I absolutely love this colour as it is so bright and only needs one coat to produce an amazing colour. If you haven't already, I would definitely recommend looking at their products. They have an amazing colour called' Purple Grey' which is an amazing dupe for Chanel's polish, Paradoxal. Most of their products are priced at £5 and can often be found in Boots or Superdrug on offer!

Give and MakeUp is an organisation wanting to help women and children in refuge. They work hard all year round to donate and vonlunteer to help those in need but right now they are running a great campaign for Christmas. A lot of us will have toiletries, skin care and make-up that we have never used and will never use. These may be unwanted gifts or items we have bought for ourselves but have never used. Give and MakeUp are hosting a Christmas Drive called the 'Shoebox Campaign', where you send some unwanted items in a shoebox to help women and children in refuge have a happy Christmas.

Review: Clinique - Take the day off, cleansing milk!

In September I bought my first Clinique foundation and while I was there I spoke with the lady at the counter and she told me more about the cleanse off milk they had. I tried the product out and afterwards decided I would buy it.. 3 months later, what do I think?

What does it do? "Gentle, milky makeup dissolver removes even long-wearing facial makeup and sunscreens, then tissues off or rinses away with water. Residue-free formula leaves all skin types soft, comfortable. For all skin types; ideal for drier skins."

What do I think? I LOVE this product and think it is by far the best way to remove foundation. The formulation is so creamy that when you apply you can almost feel as though it is also moisturising your skin. You remove it with a tissue and watch all your foundation come off. The good thing is that you can also use it in the shower and take your make-up off that way. I have used it every day and so far not even a quarter has gone. It is so soft and leaves my skin feeling refreshed. It is £16 but I know that it will last for a very long time. Highly recommended!

Product Review: TRESemmé Instant Refresh Shampoo

If you have watched any of my YouTube videos, you will know that I have a problem with my hair. What is that problem? Well, now that it is back in its' natural state, it tends to get greasy extremely easily. In the past I have washed my hair every day but recently I have opted to try using dry shampoo more. I have used Batiste in the past which I find annoying as it comes out white and I find that it tends to make my hair feel extremely dry.

With this in thought I decided that I would try something different and I opted for TRESemmé's Instant Refresh Shampoo. Here are my thoughts:

What I think of it? I absolutely love this product and it has firmly replaced the Batiste dry shampoo in my collection. This is marketed for people who have normal to oily hair, which is what I have. The other perfect thing about this product is that it comes out in a clear spray. This is fantastic as it means there is no residue left in your hair after you brush through and also that you can use it to simply add volume to your hair. At just over £4 in most local Boots and Superdrug stores, this product is amazing value for money. It smells amazing and comes in really lovely packaging!

Would I re-purchase? Most definitely. I already have a full and travel-size bottle!

Hey everyone! Firstly, I am really sorry that I haven't had chance to write any posts this week. I've been so busy with other things but I am back now for 'Share the L♥ve'.

This week I am featuring a girl I absolutely love! Not only is she a favourite of mine at the moment but she has been for months now. She is called Rachel, and her YouTube Channel username is cupcakesandscissors. I was lucky enough to get to speaking to her and we've became good friends. Rachel is down to earth, friendly and just a beautiful person. If you haven't, I suggest you go and check out her channel as she has an amazing fashion sense. She does amazing Outfit Of The Day's, lovely hauls that more than not will include nail polishes & some other videos thrown in for fun. I love Rachel and I'm sure you all will too. What is your favourite all time beauty/makeup item that you can't not have? Eyeliner! I feel you can do so much with eyeliner that you really can't do with other products. When I first started wearing makeup it was all I wore, it really makes your eyes pop! My favorite is Urban Decay 24/7 liner in Zero.

What new product(s) would you recommend for anyone to try? I have been loving my Bobbi Brown Foundation Stick! This is actually the only Bobbi Brown product I've ever tried but it's great! I'm not really a foundation person but this to me is like a concealer/foundation all in one, there are no blending issues and you don't have to use it all over your face, and it's build-able and portable, what more could you ask for. A friend recently gave me a Palmer's Cocoa Butter Swivel Stick that looks like a giant glue stick. Since the weather has been getting a lot cooler my lips have been getting really chapped but having this around has been awesome! You can also use it on dry skin and it smells like cocoa, yum.

What do you enjoy most about making YouTube videos? Definitely meeting people. Through this community I've made friends all over the world! It's fascinating that we can all share a common intrest but lead completely different lives. I've learned so much from Youtube and all of the wonderful people I've met.

Hey everyone! As promised, I am starting my Share The L♥ve series.

This week I have chosen one of my favourite girls on YouTube. She's also one of my favourite bloggers and a lot of you will know her as Gemsmaquillage or Gemma, for short :P.

Gemma is a beauty Guru on YouTube. She does amazing video's including great reviews, tutorials and everything else you could want from a beauty Guru. Recently I have also been loving Gemma's vlog channel (unicyclephysics). She has been doing daily vlogs for the past 20 days (and counting) and I love them all. I asked Gemma a few fun questions and she was lovely and answered them for me :)

What is your favourite all time beauty/makeup item that you can't not have? I'd definitely say mascara, it changes my whole face and wakes me up! I'm loving Rimmel lash accelerator at the moment.

What new product(s) would you recommend for anyone to try? I think my most recent tip would be to think outside the usual retailer and maybe try professional/stage makeup. I lobe kryolan and Ben nye. Inexpensive and they are long lasting!

What do you enjoy most about making YouTube videos? I would say meeting people, forming friendships with like minded people who I would never otherwise have met and just the sense of community. You can't beat it

I was rudely woken up this morning by my postman trying to shove something through my letter box! I was quite disgruntled at being woke up but when I realised what it was, I didn't mind so much.

My copy of December's Glamour Magazine came this morning. I was unaware of it having a freebie with it, but it has. What is it? Well..

I LOVE Nails Inc! I remember about a year ago when Glamour were doing a similar promotion. I'm unsure of the other colours but I am in love with the one they sent me - Savile Row. As winter in approaching I thought I would do a post about what I'm really loving right now!

♥ Porridge: At the moment I am really loving making porridge. I'm on the search for new toppings all the time so any suggestions, leave a comment!

♥ Viva Glam Gaga & Cyndi: I have a few MAC lipstsicks now and at the moment I am totally loving these two Viva Glam lipsticks! I have had the gorgeous pink Gaga lipstick for a while and recently I bought the Cyndi lipstick. I've been on the search for a nice red lipstick for ages and I think this is it. It will be perfect for autumn and winter! :)

♥ Urban Decay Book of Shadows Volume 3: I can't get enough of this palette. I was lucky enough to have this as a present for my Birthday in September and I've used it ever since. I am loving neutral eyeshadow's at the moment and this palette has a gorgeous blend of colours and neutrals that can be used together to make some amazing looks!

♥ Ugg Boots: At the moment I am loving wearing my Ugg Boots. They are so comfy and are perfect on colder days!

Summer lovin'

I wanted to do a post dedicated to one of my September favourites. This is the 'Summer Of Love' nail kit by Urban Decay. I absolutely love this kit and have used a couple of colours. The colours are (l-r) Shine On, Woodstock, Hashbury, Love Light, Magic Bus, Aquarius and Psychedelic Sister.

My two favourites are Aquarius and Psychedelic Sister. Aquarius is a gorgeous electric turquoise color and Psychedelic Sister is a gorgeous pink/orange. Here are some pics:

I would recommend this set to any one. The nail varnishes I have tried have all gone on really smoothly and have only taken one application to achieve a gorgeous pigmented colour! I can't wait to try the rest of the colours. I think that some of the colours are more Summery, but they would still be good to wear during Autumn/Winter to brighten up the dull days :)

I have changed my skin care routine quite a lot over the years. I have used mainly drugstore products from Boots or Superdrug. Mainly Nutrogena or Clean and Clear. When I was younger I used to use Oxy which then broke my skin out in a bad way and I haven't gone back to it since.

However, I have always had the same brand of moisturiser. Simple! I absolutely love their products and have never had any problems with them. Their 'Spotless skin, anti-blemish' moisturiser is my favourite. I recieved a 50% off voucher for their online store for my Birthday and I think the order has gone slightly wrong but I am going to rectify that. When I was younger I used to apply my foundation with my hands, not blend it completely and I used to choose the total wrong foundation for my skin. I'm sure I wasn't the only person to do that, right? Well, for a number of years I have always thought that I couldn't wear liquid foundation as it would break me out. Err, wrong! I had some advice from someone and I found that this very much rings true.. it's not liquid foundation, it's the type of foundation I'm using that will break me out. Basically, I think I had been using foundation that is primarily for a matte finish! I have combination skin so that was probably the worst product I could have bought.. anyway on to my story..

As I was browsing through the gorgeous make-up counters in Debenhams I came across Clinique. After talking to the woman and doing a colour match to my skin tone, I finally purchased this.

The Clinique superbalanced make-up foundation in number 36 'Beige Chiffon'. This foundation is designed to balance out your skin. Where my skin is oily it will give a matte finish and where it's dry, it will moisturise it. Perfect!!

This foundation is a dream! It applies amazingly well with a foundation brush (I use the Sigma F60) and leaves a very clean, silky feel to the skin. I find it to be medium coverage but it blends so well with my skin that you can't tell I have foundation on. This product gets 10/10 from me! I would say if you are looking for a GOOD foundation for combination skin then this would be for you!

Hey everyone!!

So this will probably be my last haul for a while as I am on a make up ban! I've bought quite a few things lately and this is the last lot. I got my wisdom tooth out last week and I have been feeling pretty miserable from it. I stupidly stayed awake throughout the whole thing which was a mistake. Word to the wise - get put to sleep when you're getting a tooth removed, it's the way forward!

What do I think?

Well, I absolutely love this product! I have used it for just under a week and have noticed great improvement in the condition of my feet. I have tried many things such as foot files, the Ped Egg and other foot creams but have found that this is simply the best. I bought the 60ml size for just £5.99 and would say to anyone with cracked heels that this cream is the answer to your problems. It works wonders and I will definitely re-purchase!! Big thumbs up from me!
